CONSERVED PROPERTIES WITH PUBLIC ACCESS

The Trustees of Reservations Membership based nonprofit with a mission to preserve, for public use and enjoyment, properties of exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological value in Massachusetts. Maintains almost 1000 acres on Chappaquiddick including Cape Poge Wildlife Refuge, Mytoi Gardens, Norton Point Beach, and Wasque. (508) 693-7662

Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank Maintains properties on Martha’s Vineyard and Chappaquiddick including conserved properties and trails in North Neck with staircases down to Cape Poge Pond, the Three Ponds Reservation in the center of the island, and Poucha Pond Reservation.

Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation The Packard Preserve allows public access along a walking path to a scenic overlook above Katama Bay.

WAMPANOAG TRIBE

Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah) The ancestors of Wampanoag people have lived for at least 10,000 years at Aquinnah (Gay Head) and throughout the island of Noepe (Martha’s Vineyard). Today, the tribe continues to be self-governing and proudly cares for 477 acres of ancestral lands, much of it set aside for common use and benefit. At the stunning cliffs of Aquinnah, the tribe maintains a gift shop and cultural center.

COMMUNITY CENTER & LIBRARY

Chappaquiddick Community Center The Center offers a variety of events and classes, WIFI access, a small library and a video collection. Anyone who owns land or comes and stays on Chappy is welcome to be a subscriber to the CCC for $75. You must be a subscriber to register for tennis and sailing classes and to rent the building for private events.

Edgartown Free Public Library Free wireless access, books and magazines, DVDs and videos, audio books, compact discs and more. Public computers are availabe for all visitors for 15 minute sessions (No library card required). A visitor may purchase a library card for an annual fee of $10.
